Dear Chuck and family, I was saddened to see Jan's obituary in the paper this morning. I had the good fortune to work with Jan during the 1980s when we both worked for the provincial Dept of Tourism, Recreation and Heritage. I was a young sport consultant and Jan was a member of the typing pool. I well remember the many conversations we had while I was attempting to get my correspondence placed higher in the pile, claiming that my letters were more urgent than other letters. Jan and her colleagues including Sandra were very kind to me in those days. While I have not seen Jan for nearly 30 years, seeing her image in today's paper drew me back to those happy times in the late 1980s when my visits to seek help from Jan and her colleagues always put a smile on her face. I think it is a testament to her kindness and genuine spirt that I would have the warm feelings I still do these thirty years later. Jan was a special person. Please accept my deepest sympathies.
