I was so lucky to have met Hilda and to have been able to call her a friend. I admired her. Her smile that reflected her openness and her kindness, her sense of fun and her humour, her ability to shop until we dropped, her listening skills and wise advice, our hour long telephone conversations about anything and everything, her unwavering loyalty to friends and family, her class and dignity, her impeccable taste, it all made me smile the moment I saw her. She showered love on the people she cared about unapologetically.
Anyone who knew Hilda has had a richer life because of it. She lives on in our hearts.
