The family of Janet Mary Temblay are sad to announce she passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 58, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She was born on May 21, 1966, to Donald “Carl” and Joanna (Cawthra) Harris, in Middleton, Nova Scotia.
In addition to her loving husband Martin, Janet will be sadly missed by her children, Thomas (Bryanna), Annie Cormier (Vincent), Samuel, Caleb; brothers, Donnie (Sandra), George, Tim (Mary), Danny (Beth); sisters, Heather (Dana), Karen (Simon), Laurie (Tony); brother-in-law, Jocelyn (Noëlla); sisters-in-law, Huguette (Matthieu), Raymonde (Jean), Johanne (Pierre). She was predeceased by her parents, and her sister-in-law Micheline (Mitchell).
The youngest of eight, Janet was the cherished baby of the family. She was the heart and soul of the siblings who always knew the who, what, when, and where. Janet was always ready to host to ensure the family was all together. Janet met her husband Martin in Quebec City during the summer of 1986 and what followed was an incredible marriage of 34 years. A devoted mother, Janet spent the bulk of her time either in the gym or on the sideline cheering on her four kids at various sporting events. Her kids always came first, and she supported them in all avenues of their lives. An avid teacher, Janet taught for 30 years at various schools in Moncton and Fredericton and was a highly respected educator in the community. It is during these years where she met her dearest friends who all remember her as compassionate, helping and loving. Janet loved to spend her time at the cottage, and it is where her spirit will live on forever.
A sincere thank you to the nurses of the palliative care unit at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, who cared for Janet over her final ten months.
