Obituary of Frank Creighton Gorham

Beloved husband, gentle father, loving grandfather, constant brother, caring uncle. Surrounded by his loved ones, Frank passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Friday, September 14, 2012. Frank was born on December 5th, 1936. He was the son of the late Joseph Walker Gorham and Herberta Ruth (Creighton) Gorham. 

Frank will be dearly missed by the love of his life, Joan (nee Smith) and his family and friends. He is survived by his children, Peter (Raymond), Tracy (Tony), Joe (Sue), Stephen (Lisa), Nathan, Mark (Valerie), Jason, and Matthew (Jennifer); as well as his grandchildren and great grandchild, siblings, and his many nieces and nephews. 

Over the years, Frank served in the Canadian Armed Forces, he worked with Gorham Beverages, Dempster, Smith and Gorham Ltd., and for 25 years served as the Vice-President of Fredericton Rentals Ltd. In his retirement, Frank was a bee keeper and founded Gorham Apiaries. Frank was a gentle loving man whom many were lucky to call a good friend. He was creative and inventive and had a passion for how things worked. He had many hobbies and interests: maple syruping, beekeeping, travelling, horses, big family dinners, Zane Grey novels, and time spent in nature. As a cadet Frank earned his private pilot’s license and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. 

Frank was a man of faith, an active member of the Skyline Acres Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and on the Board of Trustees. His involvement in the church was an important part of his spiritual and social life.

Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, NB. 458-9170 from 1 pm to  3 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm on Monday September 17th. The funeral service will held at Skyline Acres Baptist Church, 135 Canterbury Dr., Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, September 18th at 2pm. Interment on Wednesday, September 19th at 2pm at Long Reach, Kingston Peninsula, St. James Anglican Church, Route 845 with visitation at the church from 1 to 2 PM. Charitable donations may be made to The Gideons International or to the preservation fund of St. James Church.
