Obituary of Daniel Jean Marie Pelletier

With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of Daniel “Dan” Pelletier, on March 26th, 2025, at the age of 68. Son of Jean-Marie and Yvette (Albert) Pelletier, Daniel was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick, on May 6, 1956.

On August 25th, 45 years ago, Daniel married the love of his life, Lucille, and together they built a beautiful life centered around family. As a devoted husband and father, Daniel adored his daughters, Julie and Émilie, and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for them. His love extended to his cherished grandchildren, Lucas and Aiden, and his daughter-in-law, Nadia Ouellette-Pelletier. Even the family dog, Bailey, held a special place in his heart.

Daniel was a constant source of support, reliability, and humor, always ready with a joke or a kind word to brighten the lives of those around him. His selflessness knew no bounds—he put others before himself in every aspect of life, always willing to lend a helping hand to his family, friends, neighbors, friends of his daughters, and even strangers.

Daniel was deeply passionate about his work, bringing dedication and perfection to everything he did. His meticulous nature was a reflection of his care—not just for his craft but for the people who depended on him.

In addition to his loving wife Lucille, Daniel will be greatly missed by his children, Julie (Nadia) of Fredericton and Émilie of Halifax, Nova Scotia; his grand-children, Lucas and Aiden; his siblings, Rachel (John MacDonald) of Port Elgin, Ontario, and Claude (Kay) of Barrie, Ontario; sisters-in-law, Rachel (Reno Charette) and Céline Thériault of Edmundston; brothers-in-law, André Pelletier, and Gilles Pelletier (Louise) of Edmundston, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is now reunited with his parents, Jean-Marie and Yvette Pelletier, and his beloved sister, Jacqueline (Lajoie). He is also predeceased by his parents-in-law, Maurice and Thérèse Pelletier, his brothers-in-law, Luc and Louis, and sister-in-law, Suzanne.

A service to honor Dan’s life will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Thursday, April 3. A viewing will take place from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a ceremony from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather afterward for a light meal at the family home, where memories will be shared and his life celebrated. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, humor, and unwavering support will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

C’est avec une profonde tristesse et un amour immense que nous annonçons le décès de Daniel « Dan » Pelletier, âgé de 68 ans, survenu le 26 mars 2025. Fils de Jean-Marie et Yvette (Albert) Pelletier, Daniel est né à Edmundston, au Nouveau-Brunswick, le 6 mai 1956.

Le 25 août, il y a 45 ans, Daniel a épousé l'amour de sa vie, Lucille, et ensemble, ils ont construit une belle vie centrée sur la famille. En tant que mari et père dévoué, Daniel adorait ses filles, Julie et Émilie, et n’aurait jamais hésité à tout sacrifier pour leur bonheur. Son amour s’étendait également à ses précieux petits-enfants, Lucas et Aiden, et à sa belle-fille, Nadia Ouellette-Pelletier. Même le chien de la famille, Bailey, occupait une place spéciale dans son cœur.

Daniel était la personne la plus soutenante, fiable et la plus drôle, toujours prêt à faire une blague ou à dire un mot gentil pour réjouir ceux qui l’entouraient. Son altruisme n’avait aucune limite—il mettait toujours les autres avant lui-même, prêt à tendre la main à sa famille, ses amis, ses voisins, les amis de ses filles et même aux étrangers.

Daniel était profondément passionné par son travail, apportant dévouement et perfection dans tout ce qu'il faisait. Sa nature méticuleuse reflétait son souci—pas seulement pour son art, mais aussi pour les personnes qui dépendaient de lui.

En addition de sa chère épouse Lucille, Daniel sera profondément manqué par ses enfants, Julie (Nadia) de Fredericton et Émilie de Halifax, Nouvelle-Écosse, à ses petits-enfants, Lucas et Aiden; à ses frères et sœurs, Rachel (John MacDonald) de Port Elgin, Ontario, et Claude (Kay) de Barrie, Ontario ; à ses belles-sœurs, Rachel (Reno Charette) et Céline Thériault d’Edmundston ; à ses beaux-frères, André Pelletier et Gilles Pelletier (Louise) d’Edmundston, ainsi qu’à de nombreux oncles, tantes, cousins, cousines, nièces et neveux. Il est maintenant réuni avec ses parents, Jean-Marie et Yvette Pelletier, et sa chère sœur, Jacqueline (Lajoie). Il est également précédé dans le décès par ses beaux-parents, Maurice et Thérèse Pelletier, ses beaux-frères, Luc et Louis, ainsi que sa belle-sœur, Suzanne.

Une cérémonie pour honorer la vie de Dan se tiendra au salon funéraire McAdam le jeudi 3 avril. Une visite aura lieu de 13 h 30 à 15 h 00, suivie d’une cérémonie de 15 h 00 à 15 h 30. Un sincère merci aux infirmières et médecins de l’Hôpital Régional Dr. Everett Chalmers, qui ont pris soin de Daniel lors de ses derniers moments. En lieu et place de fleurs, des dons peuvent être faits à la Société Canadienne du Cancer en sa mémoire ou à toute autre organisation de votre choix.

Il laissera un vide profond parmi ceux qui ont eu le privilège de le connaître. Sa gentillesse, son humour et son soutien constant continueront de vivre dans le cœur de ceux qui l’ont aimé.
