Obituary of Abraham John Khoury
It is with great sadness that the family announce that Abraham Khoury "Abe" passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025 at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital (DECH). He was born on December 4, 1940 in Niha, Lebanon. At the age of 11, Abe, along with his parents and nine siblings, immigrated to Canada and settled in Fredericton.
Abe was a successful businessman who owned and operated Maritime Flooring for 38 years. He had a big heart and was always willing to help others and his community. Abe loved his family, and he hosted many family celebrations in his home. He loved children and it was special for him to spend time with his great grandchildren.
Abe enjoyed watching many sports, especially the Toronto Raptors and Maple Leafs. He played and excelled in rugby, and he was an avid golfer.
Abe helped fund and establish Saint Charbel Maronite Catholic Church, and he was one of its oldest members.
Abe is survived and will be missed by his daughter, Sherri Cann (Darren); his grandchildren, Zack (Trish), and Payton (Jarrett); his great grandchildren, Ferguson, Phoebe and Fletcher; his brothers, Charlie and Tom; his sister, Sabina Keenan, and several nieces and nephews. Abe is predeceased by his parents, Helen and Salim Khoury; his sisters, Watfa El-Khoury, Sally Delmas, and Mary Khoury; his brothers, Joseph, Percy and Albert; his nieces, Sonya and Susan Khoury, and nephew Wady El Khoury.
