Obituary of Gerald Wayne Robert Goodyear

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gerald “Wayne” Goodyear announces his passing on May 3rd, 2025 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on May 20th, 1948, in Grand Bank, Newfoundland. He was the son of the late Ronald and Eileen (Moulton) Goodyear. 

Wayne spent numerous years with Heath and Sherwood Mining Company in different sites throughout Canada and around the globe. He had the opportunity to live and work in India, South Africa, Cuba, Chile, Belize and Mexico. In his younger days (during the late 60s early 70s), Wayne travelled and worked as road manager for the popular Canadian soft rock group "The  Bells."

Wayne is survived by his sister, Elizabeth.  Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Ronald Goodyear and his beloved Samsun, the puppy Wayne rescued when on his final job in Northern Quebec.
