Obituary of Cécile Marie Cormier

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Cécile Marie Cormier announces her sudden passing on May 22, 2025 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 21, 1953 in Moncton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Lucien and Lina (Hébert) Primeau.

Cécile was a registered nurse and worked in Moncton, Grand Falls and retired in Fredericton. She was an avid knitter and loved knitting little hats and sweaters for newborns that she would then donate to the hospital. 

Surviving are her husband, Robert Cormier; children, Sylvie (the late Derrick) Koller, Lisa (Rory) Cormier Pronk and Richard (Jennifer) Cormier; grandchildren, Sébastien, Vincent, Janelle, Tristan, Nathan-Richard and Logan; brothers, Robert (the late Éliane) Primeau, Louis (Catherine) Primeau and Maurice (Gisèle) Primeau.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 2, from 6-8 pm at McAdam's Funeral Home in Fredericton, NB. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 3,  2025 at 2 pm at Sainte-Anne-des-Pays-Bas Catholic Church in Fredericton. Fr. Peter Melanson will be the celebrant. A reception at the church will follow. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Dieppe, NB, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.
