Obituary of Maurice Leon Dionne

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Maurice Leon Dionne announces his passing on June 9, 2025 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on December 20, 1941, in Edmundston, NB, he was the son of the late Leopold and Ida (Hebert) Dionne.

Aligning with his true passion and love of everything outdoors, Maurice studied forestry at the Maritime Forest Ranger School in Fredericton. This education prepared Maurice well for a 44 year long career as manager of the Juniper Tree Nursery, a role that earned him widespread respect in the world of silviculture.  He had a great love for the outdoors, fishing and hunting.

Maurice is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Beth; children, Deana (Kendall) Brown and Paul (Tammy) Dionne; grandchildren, Sprague Brown, Cameron (Lindsay) Brown, Gracie Dionne and Toni (Mitchel) Wilson; brother, Gilles (Jeanette) Dionne; sisters, Lillian (Michel) Levesque and Mona Dill. Besides his parents, Maurice was predeceased by his brothers; Reno Dionne, Fernand Dionne, Claude Dionne and Donald Dionne; as well as sister, Theresa Case.

Visitation will take place at Hope City Church, 429 Clements Drive, Fredericton on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 12-2 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Joe Beesly officiating.
