Obituary of Mary Fair Villers
The family of Mary Fair Villers sadly announces her passing on June 28, 2025, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She was born on July 1, 1948, to Archibald and Maie (Cochran) Balleny, in Montreal, Quebec.
Mary will be dearly missed by her husband, Jon; children, Karen Hulberg (Trevor) and Brian Villers (Julie); grandchildren, Alexander, Henri, Adrien, Dominic, and Zőelle, as well as sisters, Pat Waugh (Gordon) and Diane Villers.
In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her sister, Ann Paul.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She carried her need to take care of people into her career as an x-ray technician, finally retiring from the mammography unit at the Oromocto Public Hospital. She said it was the best place she had worked.
Travelling with Jon was one of her favourite things. They toured through the Scandinavian countries, Russia, all over Europe, Hawaii, and enjoyed several Caribbean Cruises, to name a few of the places they loved over the years.
When they married, Jon’s father gave her a small piece of advice: Learn to play bridge and learn to bowl. While she never excelled at either, she grew to appreciate both.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of unit 4E at the DECRH for their exceptional care of Mary during her stay.
For those who wish, memorial donations may be made in Mary’s honour to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
In keeping with Mary’s wishes, there will be no formal services; however, there will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at 25 Carlisle Road, Fredericton.
