Obituary of Carl Todd Flynn
CARL TODD FLYNN - 1936-2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Carl Todd Flynn announce his passing on July 9, 2025 at Shannex Ocean Hall, Moncton.
Carl is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Lois (Grant); his son Brent, (Jodi) of Thousand Oaks, California, his daughter Sheryl, (Bob), Matchett of Moncton NB; his five amazing grandsons, David (Morgan) and Andrew (Michelle) Matchett, Dalton (Olivia), Spencer (Camille) and Garrett Flynn. He is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Donna (Bliss) Brewer, brothers-in-law, Wayne and Guilford Grant and sister-in-law, Gail Hallett.
Carl was born July 28, 1936, in Stanley NB and was the son of the late Frank and Mabel (Bavis) Flynn. He grew up on the family farm in Cross Creek NB, before moving to Fredericton.
Carl was a proud graduate of the UNB civil engineering class of 1962 and the winner of the Ketchum medal as top graduating student. After a few years working for Acres in Niagara Falls Ontario, he had a long 33 year career at NB Power, retiring from the position of Vice President Finance and Technical Services. He also served on the Fredericton Planning Committee and coached local sports teams. He liked taking long family drives in the car, spending time with his grandchildren, watching the Maple Leafs win, repairing electronics, telling a wry joke and caring for the elderly.
As per his request there will be no visitation or funeral service. There will be a private family service at a future date.
