Obituary of Denise Collings

It is with great sadness that the family of Denise (Petty) Collings of Fredericton, NB, announce her passing on July 24, 2025, at the Oromocto Public Hospital following a long and courageous battle with kidney disease.

 

Denise was born in Huddersfield, England, on October 26, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Edward William and Audrey Winifred (Gizzard) Petty.

 

Denise is survived by her children, Leann Collings, Michelle Martin (Gerard) and Heath Collings (Pamela). She was Gram (Grammy) to Christopher Collings (Rochelle), Diedre Holmes (Preston), Nicole Laveniuk (Mat), Benjamin Martin, Kaitlynd Collings, and Laurence Collings; great Gramma to Reece, Maisie, Alexis, Alyssa, Arianna, Arya, Brody, Lucas, and Oliver; sister to Lee McArter (Jim) and the late Steven Petty, as well as aunt to Kristyn Manning and Eren McArter.

 

Our family would like to say a special and heartfelt thank you to the amazing, caring staff on Med 1 at the Oromocto Public Hospital for the exceptional, loving care that they gave to our mom. Their kindness and compassion for our Mom will never be forgotten, especially the thoughtful act of purchasing and putting up a bird feeder for Mom to enjoy seeing the birds come to have a snack.

 

Denise will be dearly missed. Be at peace Mom, your fight is over.
