Jim was the bus driver when my boys went to E.N.S.S. and they thought he was great. He also helped out with coaching soccer one year when we had a shortage of help. A really nice man, and I'm glad that I knew him.

My memories of Jim, my cousin, was from long ago when our families, our mothers were sisters, we always switched Xmas and New Year’s at each other’s houses. We lived close by at that time. Then Jim married and went off on the farm . So our times were in support of both families making a go of it in Toronto as new immigrants from England. My condolences to his extended family.

Having Jim as a brother, 10 years older than me, provided many opportunities for me to be included in his early adventures. When Jim was 16 or 17 he convinced our dad that he was responsible enough to trade in his bicycle for a motorcycle. Soon after the purchase he told our parents that he was taking me for a ride around the block, a ride that eventually brought us to a stop on the shoulder of the 400 highway to do some necessary repairs! We continued our journey to a friend’s cottage in Bala. Making the long distance call home to explain our predicament that required an overnight in Bala, was a tough call! There were many times Jim ‘tagged me along’ for visits with friends. One memorable one included ‘vichyssoise’ … I don’t recall who had the most difficult swallowing this strange dish, as our culinary experiences were limited to overcooked meat and vegetables prepared by our British mum.
I recall feeling so special because of the adventures I had with my older brother, and Jim inspired in me my love of travel and adventure.

I remember every trip to the farm when i was a kid, from being out in the orchards to just going for rides on the wagon to getting in trouble for wrecking the hay bales jumping on then in the barn Lol.
Uncle Jim always tried to do something with us.
Teaching us the about the farm I never left the farm not wishing we could stay another day week always left with the most delicious apples
He was by far my favourite uncle you will be missed and I will never forget the fantastic memories you gave us and me as a child
You are and will always be part of my Fondus memories as a child
My love goes out to the family in this hard time love you all

When I was a teenager and Jim's much younger cousin, he gave me his Mosburge 22 rifle. I was thrilled. I haven't fired it in decades and have no ammunition, but it still inspires fond memories when I look at it.
Jim was a character that grinned often and would never wear a seatbeld, amont other exentrisities. I was very fortunate to reconnect with him in Courtenay, BC a few years ago, (for the first time since my early 20s), shortly after his New Zealand mountain tumble. Thanks to Denise for that opportunity.
Jim will be fondly remembered.

I remember your dad showing his amazing crops that he worked so hard to produce. The corn was so delicious picked fresh just a few hours before consuming. His apple orchards were amazing. It was wonderful that he had heirloom trees especially the transparent apples loved those. I remember your mom taking care of the milking goats too, that was such a difficult job. Your family will keep these heart warming memories forever how lucky we all were that our lives were touched by such a wonderful man.

To all Jim’s family I send my love. I go so far back when Jim and Diane lived a few blocks away in Bendale. Our families would split Xmas and New Year’s . Then we all grew up and went our separate ways to make lives and families. So bless you Jim you took life by the horns and had an interesting life.
Cousin Vanessa.
