Obituary of Dianne Marie Garrett

The family of Dianne Marie Garrett is saddened to announce her passing at the age of 70 on July 31, 2025, at the Dr. Everett Chalmer’s Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB, after a hard and valiant battle with cancer. Dianne was born in Victoria, BC on May 25, 1955, to Catherine and John Garrett.

 

Dance was Dianne’s life. Dianne was a professional, dancing for companies all over the world. Later, she was the owner and artistic director of Artemis Dance Studio in Fredericton where she inspired many young dancers and was a great contributor to the local arts scene.

 

She loved traveling and traveled to Europe many times, teaching Craig about European life and art. She loved reading, gardening and her animal pals. Dianne was a kind, generous person and had great empathy for those who were less fortunate. She will be missed by many family members, friends, and acquaintances.

 

Dianne is lovingly remembered by her husband, Craig Proulx; brothers, Lawrie (Debbie), Steven, Mark and Michael, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, David.

 

The family would like to send a special thank you to those that cared for her at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.

 

Celebrations of Dianne’s life and impact will be held privately at the family’s request. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Charlotte Street Arts Centre in Fredericton, NB.
