Obituary of James "Jim" Barriault
James (Jim) Barriault, 66, of Fredericton, NB passed away in Fredericton on August 18, 2025. He was born in Dalhousie, New Brunswick to the late James and Kathleen (Plourde) Barriault. He grew up in Montreal after moving there with his family when he was young. He is survived by his wife, Sabrina, his brother, Robert and sisters Julie, Marie, Émilie and Mona Lise. Jim had a 32 year career working for Air Canada, finally retiring as a Customer Services Agent.
Jim lived life on his own terms until the end. He had a broad range of interests, was a self learner and an excellent and fearless problem solver whether the problem was electrical, plumbing, technical, mechanical or anything else! He loved science fiction, motorcycles and rock ‘n roll and had an encyclopedic knowledge of movies and books. Although he traveled extensively, his favourite place was Mabula Game Lodge in South Africa. He shared this love with many, inviting them to stay with him at his timeshare. He gladly and generously shared his time and talent with those around him.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
