Obituary of Frank Walter Ward

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Ward on September 2^nd, 2025, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital at age 83. Born on May 30^th, 1942, in Doaktown, NB, he was the son of the late Harold and Grace (O’Donnell) Ward.

Frank lost his mother at age 6, began working in the woods at 14, and then did a stint in the Royal Canadian Navy at 19 before moving to Fredericton in the late 1960s. He was part of the founding builder group of Smythe Street Church in the early 80s. He continued working and helping others until his health would no longer permit him to do so in his late 70s.

Frank is survived by his partner, Robin MacAllister; son, Ryan Ward (Sonya); daughter, Nicole Ward; grandchildren, Eric, Cole, Nolan, and Evelyn; brother, Jeff Ward (Sharon), as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his brothers, Jack, Darrell, and Norton Ward, as well as sisters, Mera Rutledge, Roberta Finnie, Leona Power, and Alice Telesco.

A memorial service will be held at the Smythe Street Church on Tuesday, September 9^th, 2025, at 2 pm, with a reception to follow. Interment will occur in Doaktown, NB, at a later date.
