Obituary of Glenn Ross Ingersoll
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Glenn Ross Ingersoll on September 12, 2025, at the age of 69 years, at Hospice Fredericton. Glenn passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family after a long illness with cancer.
Glenn was born on November 17, 1955, in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. He grew up in various places throughout Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, as his father, the late Rev. Scott Wayne Ingersoll, was called to preach in various Wesleyan church communities. He spent summers at the Beulah Campgrounds in Browns Flats, NB, and attended Bethany Bible College, UNB Fredericton, Rockport International Film and Television School, and NBCC Saint John.
Glenn made significant contributions to the music and film communities in New Brunswick. He was as an avid and respected singer, songwriter, guitarist, and music producer. Glenn performed in several music groups including, Living Waters, Sure Life and the “Show Me” cast, Foxtooth, Glenn Ingersoll and String Fever, AKA, Decade of Dreams (division 1(a) of The Exploding Meet initiative), and The Slokom Sistirs. In the 1980s, Glenn was the Technical Director of the Fredericton Playhouse. In the 1990s, Glenn was instrumental in establishing: The Exchange, a meeting of the Fredericton arts and business communities; the original NB Music Industries Association (currently Music-Musique NB); and the Harvest Music Festival. He and his wife, Jennifer, co-produced various musical events, including showcases and songwriting circles for The Nashville Network (TNN), East Coast Music Awards (ECMA) 2002, and Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) 2006. Glenn was also an integral part of the New Brunswick film and video industry, with his career spanning decades. Glenn worked as a sound recordist with Atlantic MediaWorks, in various key capacities as crew member and/or production manager on several feature films and videos shot in the Maritimes, and as a founding member of Saint John’s HIT Media Incorporated.
Matthew 25:34-40. In the last several years, Sandy Farris, Andy and Lisa (Jensen) Jones and their families were Glenn’s treasured and dedicated “village”, and we cannot be more grateful for the extensive care they’ve provided beyond measure. Glenn was also very blessed with an extended family of loving friends. A heartfelt and very special thank you goes to the following people who housed and/or supported Glenn through the challenges of recent years: Dave and Carolyn McElhinney and their family; Keith and Patti Cameron and their family; Andy and Lisa (Jensen) Jones and their family; Sandy Farris and her family; Stuart MacKenzie; Mark Kent; Bruce Hughes, and Lloyd Salomone. The list of beloved “brothers and sisters” over the years extends even further, and are too numerous to mention; you know who you are. Words could never adequately express how much you each mean to us.
Glenn is survived by his separated wife, Jennifer (Legere), and their children, Amy and Scott (Shania); brother-in-law, David Boyle, and several treasured nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a loving father who cherished his children endlessly.
Glenn was preceded in death by his loving parents, Rev. Scott Wayne and Evelyn Louise (Durling) Ingersoll, and his dearly beloved sister, Audrey Jean Ingersoll.
Glenn will be remembered fondly for his music, endless sense of humour, storytelling antics, rich voice, intelligence, commitment to embracing all those around him as equals, love of nature and animals, and most of all for his kindness and gentleness.
At Glenn’s request, no visitation or funeral services will be held. Family and friends held a beautiful Celebration of Life at Hospice Fredericton with Glenn in attendance before his passing. In lieu of funeral services, we respectfully recommend gathering with friends and family to share favourite memories, stories, and songs. Cremation has taken place at Glenn’s request, and interment will be held at Browns Flats Baptist Cemetery near Beulah Campgrounds at a later date.
The family would like to thank the wonderful and compassionate staff at Hospice Fredericton for taking such great care of Glenn and his family during his final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Glenn may be made to Hospice Fredericton or the Canadian Mental Health Association. A message of condolence may be shared on Glenn's tribute wall to the left side of this obituary.
