Obituary of Sherrie Lynn Harrison
Sherrie Lynn Harrison of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025 at the age of 62. Sherrie was born on October 11, 1962 to Vivian and Paul Carroll in Biloxi, Mississippi.
She is survived by her sons, Kyle Harrison (Tanisha) and Daniel Wright (Marissa); daughter, Stacy James; grandchildren, Frankie Harrison and Ezra Thorley; siblings, Darlene Skinner and Roy Carroll; parents, Vivian and Paul Carroll, and her adored cat, Sampson.
Sherrie was predeceased by her brother, Patrick Carroll.
Sherrie was a dedicated home care worker for the Red Cross for many years and worked hard to improve her clients’ lives.
A multi talented creative person, Sherrie was always working on various projects. She crocheted and toll painted, among other things, and enjoyed making things for her family and friends. She was an excellent baker and had recipes requested often. She loved music and playing Christmas songs and hymns on the piano. She was a lover of nature and all animals, especially her cat, Sampson. She was a beautifully expressive writer and loved poetry and reading, especially the word of God.
She was so proud of her children and grandchildren and they were her biggest joy.
Sherrie was a beautiful spirit that struggled to cope with a hard hand dealt in this life and she tried to the best of her ability to navigate her course. We hope those that knew and loved her are as comforted as her family is knowing that she is finally free from pain in her heart, mind and body. She is finally resting with God.
God Saw You
God saw you were getting tired,
When cure was not to be
So He wrapped His arms around you,
and whispered "come to me"
You didn't deserve what you went through,
So He gave you a rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
For He only takes the best.
And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain,
I could not wish you back,
To suffer that again.
Our family would like to extend our deep gratitude to her special friend, Paul Payne and best friend, Paula Thomas, McAdam’s Funeral Home - especially Tanya Roy, the staff from Evelyn Grove Manor, Tracy Sutherland Matthews and John Humphry, her church family at Hope City, and to all those who have shown kindness and support during this difficult time.
Mom is coming home to be with her children. We will not be having a funeral service, but will be organizing a celebration of life ceremony at a later date.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Fredericton SPCA or the Canadian Mental Health Association. To leave a message of condolence, please visit www.mcadamsfh.com
Revelation 21: 4
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former has passed away.
Rest in freedom and peace Mom. We love you.
