Obituary of Ruth Elaine Osborne
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Elaine Osborne of Maugerville, New Brunswick, who left us on December 23, 2024, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton after a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, Ruth always fondly referred to it as “home.” Her roots there remained close to her heart throughout her life, especially her many cousins, whose presence in her thoughts never faded.
Ruth was the beloved mother of Kimberly (Darren), and the world's proudest grandmother to Bradley and Emily. She was also like a second mother to her nephews, Corey and Jeffrey, and niece, Amy (Dennis), offering them unwavering love and guidance.
She is survived by her sisters, Linda (Wayne) and Patsy; her much-loved sister-in-law, Gisele; nieces, Tracy, Shawna, Jennifer, and Kelsey, and nephews, Wayne and Jason. Ruth was predeceased by her parents, Martha and Clyde, and her brothers, Elmer and John.
Ruth spent most of her life in the close-knit community of Maugerville, where she formed many lasting friendships. Over the years, she babysat a large number of local children, each of whom held a special place in her heart. In her final years, Ruth resided at Enhanced Living Oromocto, where she was adored by staff and formed several close friendships.
Known for her huge laugh and even bigger heart, Ruth brought warmth and generosity to every room she entered. Her absence leaves a deep void in the lives of those who loved her.
In accordance with Ruth’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral. However, a reception to celebrate her life will be held at the Maugerville Community Centre on October 18, 2025, at noon. All who knew Ruth are warmly invited to join her family in sharing memories and honoring her life. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's name to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children Canada would be appreciated by the family.
