Obituary of Daniel Patrick Wood
Daniel Patrick Wood (Danny)
December 25, 1976 - August 27, 2025
It is with heartfelt sadness that the family announces the passing of Daniel Patrick Wood in Vancouver, British Columbia at the age of 48. Danny passed away from complications of diabetes, which he faced with courage throughout his adult life.
Born in Minto, New Brunswick, on Christmas Day, 1976, Danny spent his childhood in Fredericton, NB, and after the death of his father, Danny and his mother relocated to Edmonton, AB, where he spent his teenage years. As a young adult he made Vancouver, BC his home, though he never forgot his native New Brunswick.
Danny was predeceased by his parents, Donald George Wood and Donna Elizabeth Roop; his grandparents, George William and Hazel Viola Wood of Minto, NB, Daniel Smith and Mary Anne Roop (née Roy) of Saint John, NB; his brother, George Daniel Wood, of Fredericton, NB, and his uncles, Maurice (Bessie) Wood and Ronald (Louise) Wood of Minto, NB.
He is survived by his aunt, Pauline Roop of Fredericton, NB; his uncle, Wayne (Nancy) Wood of Minto, NB; his half-sister, Donna Mae Jonah of Edmonton, AB and many cousins and nieces.
Danny will be remembered for his sweetness, his gentle spirit, and his striking blue eyes. He lived simply, with quiet dignity, and left an impression of kindness on those who knew him.
He will be laid to rest at the Wallbridge Cemetery in the Wood family plot in Minto, NB, alongside his father and brother, and where generations of his family, including his great-great-grandparents, great-grandparents, and grandparents, now rest.
His journey is complete. Danny has come home.
Donations in Danny’s memory to Diabetes Canada (www.diabetes.ca) are welcome.
