Obituary of Hilda Anne Rushbrook
The passing of Hilda Anne Rushbrook of Fredericton, NB, occurred on September 27, 2025 in Fredericton, NB. Born on January 4, 1930, in Bryenton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Agnes (McAllister, Murphy) Bryenton, and former wife of the late William Rushbrook.
Hilda graduated from Millerton High School and the Victoria Public Hospital School of Nursing, Fredericton, NB. She nursed for several years in Halifax and Sydney, NS, then settled in Fredericton and worked at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Gibson Memorial United Church and United Church Women group. She was also a member of the U.P.H. Nurses Alumnae.
In addition to her parents and former husband, Hilda is predeceased by her daughter, Joan Lily Rushbrook, brother Edward Murphy (Ada) of Red Deer, Alberta, brother Newton Bryenton (Helen) of Millerton, NB, brother Earl Bryenton (Bonnie) of Ottawa, Ontario, and sister Velma Wilson (Charlie) of Sunny Corner, NB. Hilda is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Hilda’s caregivers at Windsor Court Retirement Residence, and the Farraline Home.
There will be no visiting by request. A funeral service will be held in the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at 11:00 am. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Chalmers Foundation, the Gibson Memorial United Church Fund, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
