Obituary of Dorothy Mary Anne Brooks
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful and loving mother, Dorothy Mary Anne Brooks (née Whittle).
Dorothy lit up every room she entered, and touched countless lives with her sharp wit, infectious laugh, and big heart.
She is predeceased by her husband, Wayne Brooks Sr.; son, Wayne Brooks Jr.; parents, Anna and William Whittle; brothers, Joseph (Hilda), Greg, and Gary, and sisters, Georgina and Theresa (Art).
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Amanda (Jesse); son, Jim (Jenny); special niece, Renee; grandchildren, Jessica, Cordell, Owen, Andrew, Hailee, James, Emma, Isabella, and Macey, and great-grandchildren, Matty, Marshall, and Aziz. She will also be deeply missed by her siblings, Bill (Molly), Doris (late John), Barb (Phonse), Dan (Ange), and Cathy (Rob); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends, including special friends Keith and Janet.
Dorothy’s light will continue to shine through the love, laughter, and kindness she shared with so many.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Fredericton Hospice House for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Dorothy during her stay.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 9, 2025, beginning at 11:30am, at McAdam’s Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the visitation, starting at 12:30pm, in the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel, with Elders Jerome MacDonald and Keith McMullin officiating. The family will then proceed to the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Cemetery for Dorothy’s interment. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the Fredericton Hospice House.
