Obituary of Jean Lawrence

It is with deep sadness the family of Lora “Jean” Lawrence announce her passing on October 20th, 2025 at Pine Grove Nursing Home. Born in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Thelma (Charters) Henry.

Jean enjoyed a long career with the Bank of Montreal and had fond memories of her colleagues. Upon retirement she found pleasure in caring for others as a personal support worker. In years past, Jean looked forward to gardening, quilting, and summers spent at Davidson Lake.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Andrea (Greg) Tims, Joanne (Andrew) MacFarlane, Amy (Tony) Whittaker; grandchildren, Brett (Kaeleigh), Ellea, Chase, and Georgia; step-grandchildren, Amber, Dakota, and Abby; step-great-grandchildren, Layla, Lyndsay, Lydia, Avery and Ila; and her daughters’ father, Ed Lawrence (Heather McDonald). Jean is also survived by her nephew, Andrew Henry (Diane) (Riverview, NB); niece, Jennifer Blue (Toronto); great-nephew, Owen as well as her lifelong friend, Janet Spurrell.

Jean was predeceased by her parents, Everett and Thelma, her brother, Neil, sister-in-law, Doris and infant niece, Heather Henry.

There will be no visitation or service as per Jean’s request. A private family interment will be held at a later date at the Saint Mary the Virgin Cemetery in New Maryland where Jean will be reunited with her parents.

For those wishing, donations in memory of Jean may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice or to the Pine Grove Foundation.

We, Jean’s family, would like to extend our sincere gratitude and heartfelt thanks for the compassionate care Mum received by the staff at Pine Grove Nursing Home over the past two years as well as all the many health care professionals who helped care for Mum during these past few years.
