Dear Wayne and family, it wasn't until reading her obituary that we realized that Lera's middle name was grace. Surely few people have embodied a name as fully as Lera embodied grace. Grace in her movement through the world. Always grace-filled in her conversations, relationships and especially in her many years of service on the Benevolent Committee at church. It was there that I got to experience and learn from her example of grace. While we celebrate Lera's welcome from Jesus with the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant," we know the days will be hard for you and the family. I love these lines from William How's hymn, "For All the Saints Who From Their Labours Rest," for they remind us that we are always "one in Christ" : Oh blest communion, fellowship divine! We feebly struggle, they in glory shine; Yet all are one in Thee for all are Thine, Alleluia, Alleluia!" With love Greg, Margaret and Claire Geldart

Wayne Mark and Andrew, Paul and I are very sad to learn of the passing of our friend Lera.
She and I were on several committees at Brunswick Street Baptist Church. She was always so knowledgeable and gracious.
Lear always met us with a beautiful smile and always had a positive response when asked ‘how she was’. Not many people are that sure of their standing.

Wayne and boys,
So very sorry to hear of Lera’s passing. I know she has had some issues over the past few years, but as I alway remember you say, “you are only one breath away from eternity.” I hope that her final breath was peaceful and we now know she is in a very special place. May God bring you comfort and peace at this difficult time.

The world has lost a smile that was granted to all who knew Lera. I worked with her for many years; she was the visible expression of kindness in any situation. Lera illuminated our days with her giving spirit and Christian values. My sympathy to her family . . . a family she cherished.

I remember wrestling with Lera in the hallway at our birthplace home in Barnettville beside the furnacette which was red hot,she was winning and I hit my arm on the stove pipe and got burned.
She finished her high school by walking 4 miles daily each way to Blackville High School .
I remember her skating with speed skates.
I also remember her life with Wayne, her two Boys, mark and Andrew.
Her two Grand children,Maddie and Wyatt.
She was and is Wonderful.!!
