Obituary of Georgie Ann Wilkins (née Kileel)

It is with deep love and sadness that the family of Georgie Ann Wilkins (née Kileel) announces her peaceful passing on October 21, 2025, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She was 81 years old.

Born in Fredericton on August 26, 1944, Georgie Ann was the beloved daughter of the late Gwendolyn and George Kileel. A lifelong resident of Fredericton, she attended St. Dunstan’s School, St. Mary’s Academy, and Business College, later working with the Department of Motor Vehicles, where she was known for her reliability, kindness, and quiet dedication.

Georgie Ann is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Robert “Bob” Wilkins; her sisters, Rita May Flanagan (Frank) and Janet Henderson, and her brother, Joseph Kileel (Darlene). She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews, Jennifer Flanagan, Brittney Kileel, Geoffrey Flanagan (Jennifer Everett), Peter Flanagan (Sherry), and Timothy Kileel, as well as by her seven great-nieces and -nephews, Juliet, Alex, Will, Chloe, Katie, Eli, and Charlie - whom she adored and who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Jennifer Wilkins and sister-in-law, Marg Wilkins.

She was predeceased by her parents, Gwendolyn and George Kileel.

Georgie Ann will be remembered for her extraordinary kindness, her compassion, and her unwavering forgiveness of others. She gave generously of herself, donating blood more than 100 times throughout her life to help those in need. Her selflessness and beautiful spirit touched everyone who knew her.

Family was at the heart of everything Georgie Ann did. When asked what she wanted for her birthday or Christmas, her answer was always the same: “I want to be surrounded by my family.” She loved nothing more than gathering loved ones together, surrounding herself with laughter and stories.

For more than 40 years, Georgie Ann and Bob spent cherished time with their many dear friends at Lake George, creating memories that will be treasured by all who shared those summers. One of the best traditions she and Bob shared was their nightly dance, a simple moment of joy they began during the pandemic and continued every evening thereafter.

In keeping with Georgie Ann’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate her life and the love she so freely gave.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Fredericton Food Bank, Women in Transition or a charity of the donor's choice.

Georgie Ann’s gentle heart, radiant smile, and endless capacity for love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate to know her.
