Obituary of Lois Shirley Matthews

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Lois Shirley Matthews, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Saturday, October 25, 2025.  Born in Fredericton, NB, on October 23, 1953, she was a daughter of the late Ronald Matthews and Shirley (Charters) Boone.  

Surviving are her sister, Judy Jorden, of Fredericton, NB;  cousin, Tony Charters of Trenton, ON; as well as her second family at All Needs Special Care Home, where Lois resided on the north side of Fredericton.  Lois was loved and will be missed always.  Lois will be remembered by her child like innocence and special way to laugh at all situations and her sweet way with all animals.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by sister, Nancy Bowlen.   

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 2:00 pm at St. Mary The Virgin Anglican Cemetery, New Maryland, with Rev. Robert McLean officiating.
