Obituary of John Walter Fitzpatrick
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, John “Jack” Walter Fitzpatrick, on November 22, 2025, at the age of 101, at the Veteran’s Health Unit in Fredericton, NB. He was born on July 2, 1924, in Chatham, NB, to the late Tom and Adeline (Murphy) Fitzpatrick.
Dad served in the RCAF during WW2. He spent his working career with NB Power, where he started as a lineman and finished his career as Director of Consumer Affairs Head Office, Fredericton.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Betty of 77 years; daughter, Sandra (Jason Ng); sons, John (Pat), Hughie (AnnMarie), Mark (Lynn), and Glen (the late Beth); 9 granddaughters; 3 grandsons; 21 great grandchildren, and a sister, Dana (Vaughn Sawyer). Dad was a great man who was a positive role model for his family. He lived a long and good life; his family and friends will miss him greatly.
In addition to his parents, dad was predeceased by a great grandchild, Prym; a sister, Shirley (Farrah), and a brother, Vince.
The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Veterans Health Unit, and in particular to Dr. Keddy, for their kindness and care they showed to dad during his stay.
