Obituary of John Jacomb Richardson
It is with sadness that the family of John “Jack” Richardson announces his passing at Hospice House on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the age of 70. Born in Edson, Alberta, on July 23, 1955, he was the husband of Sandra (Dell) Richardson of Fredericton.
In addition to his loving wife, Sandra, Jack leaves behind his sister-in-law, Sharon Dell (Lawson); sister-in-law, Debbie Dell; nieces, April Steeves (Kent), Angel Boyd (Shaun), and Shanna Dell (Tim); nephew, Colby Dell (Chrissy); great-niece, Chloe Dell; great-nephews, Graydon and Preston Steeves, and Nolan Boyd. Jack was predeceased by his father, Clyde Richardson; mother, Margaret (Matthews) Richardson; stepmother, Mary (Tingley) Richardson; his first wife, Patricia Richardson; as well as a brother-in- law, Carl Dell.
Jack attended many schools across Canada as his dad was in the military & moved frequently. He was a graduate of Moncton High School and Moncton NBCC (Architectural Engineering). He loved travelling, he & Sandra enjoyed many trips & cruises during their 25 years together. He also loved cooking & entertaining friends, enjoyed his favorite glass of bourbon and was never at a loss for conversation. He was a faithful New England Patriots fan & and an avid reader who remembered everything he read. He will especially be missed by two long time friends, Clair Smith and Dan Greene.
Jack’s family wish to extend their thanks and appreciation to the doctors and staff at Shannex-Brunswick Hall for the excellent care he received during his time there. Thank you also to the staff at Hospice House in Fredericton for the care and kindness shown to Jack and his family during his brief stay with them.
There will be no formal funeral service by request. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Interment will take place in the Hermitage Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack’s memory may be made to the Fredericton SPCA, Alzheimer Society, or Hospice Fredericton.
