Obituary of David John Kerr
Surrounded by the love of his family and comforted by his strong faith, David John Kerr passed away on December 13, 2025, at Nashwaak Villa in Stanley, New Brunswick.
Son of Harvey and Mary Kerr (Merrill), David leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Pamela Kerr (Facey-Crowther); his son, Trevor Kerr; daughter-in-law, Ingrid Gingras; and grandchildren, Thomas and James Kerr.
David was born in Fredericton on July 27, 1948. While he spent time living in Ontario and later in Labrador, he was always drawn back to Marysville, where he grew up, seemed to know everyone, and proudly raised his family.
Always the first to say hello and always welcoming, David was happiest when around people. Whether waving to a familiar face over coffee at McDonald’s, shepherding children across the street as a crossing guard near Park Street School, or greeting customers at Elm City Chrysler, he loved discovering and fostering connections with others.
David also found purpose in giving back to his community. Over the years, he volunteered with Epilepsy New Brunswick, NB Crime Stoppers, and the Marysville Y’s Men. After retiring, he found great joy in taking part in the Salvation Army Kettle Campaign each Christmas.
A man who deeply valued the fellowship his faith provided, David was a long-time member of Marysville Baptist Church and cherished the many lifelong friendships formed earlier at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church and Evangel Assembly.
To his wife, Pamela, he will be remembered as a dependable, compassionate, loving, and devoted husband—truly her perfect match.
To his son, he will be remembered as the best dad ever: one who didn’t hesitate to brave a winter storm with boots, gloves, hat, and even a toboggan in tow to get him where he needed to go.
To his daughter-in-law and grandchildren, he will be remembered as the ultimate collector of really cool toys, a lover of Ganong chicken bones, and a true memory-maker.
While David’s memory faded, his spirit never faltered. Much of this can be credited to those who supported him in his final years, including his caregiver, Norma Foster, and the incredible staff at Nashwaak Villa. For their compassion and care, his family is forever grateful.
David will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on through the countless stories and smiles he left us with.
At David's request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Bridge Church, 150 Cowperthwaite Street, on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Rev. David Watt will officiate.
