Obituary of Louise MacDonald

The family of Mildred “Louise” MacDonald sadly announces she passed away after a brief illness on December 27, 2025, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton New Brunswick. She was born on August 29, 1953 to Lewis R. and Angela (Roy) MacDonald, in Truro, Nova Scotia.

Louise, as most people knew her, was a good friend to many and loved by all who knew her, especially her family. She had a very special bond with her half-sister Dianne Cormier, whom she cherished. She was a kind, bubbly person with a zest for life, always ready for the next adventure.

After attending Fredericton High School, Louise went on to study business law at UNB Fredericton. She worked in partnership in a vending company until retirement.

She had many hobbies, including drawing and painting portraits, which she did for many years. She liked to travel, and did so with her special friend Pat. They travelled down south looking forward to the warmer weather most winters. She also loved to spend time with her two cats, Serge and Andy, who meant the world to her.

Louise will be sadly missed by her extended family, especially by her half-sister Dianne, as well as by her many friends. She will also be dearly missed by her very special friend Pat Comeau. In addition to her parents, Louise was predeceased by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A huge thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the DECRH who looked after Louise with compassion and care during her stay.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 11:00am - 1:00pm at McAdam's Funeral Home in Fredericton, NB. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Fredericton SPCA.
