Ted Allen began as my friend in the summer of 1959, when we served together on a crew cutting the centre line for the Vanier Highway, and he was the student surveyor. After that, I had contact with him at various times in our lives, and always enjoyed his company. Condolences to the family, and especially sister Marion and son Peter, who once dazzled me and Ted with a presentation of his cartoon work. Bill Walker
