The family of Albert Edward “Ted” Allen are sad to announce his passing on December 28th, 2025 at Hospice House Fredericton. Born on September 14, 1940, he was the son of the late Hayward and Frances (Hall) Allen.
Ted will be missed by his children, Michele McKay (Tim), Tracy Monteith (Oland), and Peter Allen; grandchildren, Liam Allen McKay, Colton Monteith, and Denver Monteith; sister, Marion Coulson (David); nephews, Michael and Stephen Butcher; and good friend, Karen Miller.
In addition to his parents, Ted was predeceased by his siblings, Douglas, Richard, Brian, and Nancy.
Ted worked as a surveyor his whole life, first in New Brunswick, and then in Alberta where he ended his career and retired back to New Brunswick. An avid reader, he was also a prolific writer who enjoyed journaling, writing short stories, and contributing to published works.
A lifetime learner, Ted was the perpetual student, always challenging himself with new ideas and subjects. He was a devoted outdoors man and was a gifted photographer.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Hospice House for their kindness and care of Ted.
A celebration of Ted’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Skyline Acres Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Karl Csaszar as officiating clergy.
