Obituary of Douglas Gordon

It is with great sadness that the family of Douglas James Gordon announce his passing at the age of 59 on January 31, 2026, peacefully in his home with his loving partner by his side. Doug was born in Woodstock, NB, on September 10, 1966, to Lise Genesse. He was then adopted by Barbara (Hartlen) and Stanley Gordon of Oromocto, NB.

Doug started working at the young age of 14 and discovered his love for trucking. He worked driving dump trucks through his teens and then moved on to driving transport trucks. He adored going on long hauls to BC and seeing the mountains. Eventually, he stopped doing long hauls and started working at Perfection Paving in Fredericton, and then moved on to driving trucks at City Concrete. Anyone who knew Doug knew he loved trucking, rock-n-roll, and smoking weed. To quote his favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd song, he was a 'simple kind of man.'

Doug was predeceased by mothers, Lise Genesse and Barbara (Hartlen) Gordon; father, Stanley Gordon; and stepfather, Henry Soucy.

He is survived by his partner, Angela Clifford; daughters, Alyssa (Roger) and Lindsay (Zachary); step daughter, Sarah (Mike); grandchildren, Graydon, Sophia, Tristan, Roy, Ryker, Joseph, Kali, Keanu, Vincent, Rylie, and Scarlett; brothers, Paul Gordon (Theresa), Mark Nicholson (Jenn), and Randy Nicholson (Candy); and sisters, Lois Ross (Bobby) and Michelle Christenson (Chris).

At Doug's request there will be no formal services. For those who wish donations in Doug's memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
