Obituary of Carolyn Ann Post
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carolyn Ann (Goodine) Post on January 31, 2026, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on September 26, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Velma (Bartley) Goodine, and beloved spouse to the late Rev. Howard Post. Carolyn was also predeceased by her dear brother, Arnold “Bud” Goodine, and so many beloved Goodine and Bartley cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Carolyn was a devoted, giving pastor’s wife, mom, and a former teacher turned service professional working to help the unhoused in Long Beach, California. She was a funny, kind-hearted, brilliant, stylish, organ and piano-playing red-head, full of life, driving her red Jeep with the “pedal to the metal” likely with coffee in hand. She loved to laugh, travel, and spend time with numerous friends and family. Later on in her life, she loved bingo and murder-mystery plays, TOPS, and Red Hat Society. Her lively spirt will continue on with all those who remember her.
She will be dearly missed by her son, Nathan Post (Lynda); daughter, Michelle Post (Brian Wannberg); grandchildren, Seth, and Emily; great grandchildren, Elsie, and Ester; a special double cousin, who was more like a brother, Wayne Goodine (Elizabeth), as well as many extended family members.
Services will be held at a later time in the spring, and details will be announced once they become available.
For those who wish, donations in Carolyn’s name would be greatly appreciated to Smythe Street Church, a church she and her husband founded from its Argyle Street beginnings and who charitably help her and other seniors.
