Obituary of Audrey Cecilia MacKinnon

The family of Audrey Mackinnon sadly announces that she has passed away on February 11th, 2026 at the Oromocto Public Hospital, in Oromocto, New Brunswick. She was born on March 27th, 1941 to Sam and Marjorie Reed in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia.

Audrey is survived and dearly missed by her loving husband of 65 years, Phil Mackinnon; sons, Bill MacKinnon and Harvie Mackinnon; daughters; Bernice Mackinnon and Sharon Hindy (Marty); sister, Patricia; brothers, Jess (Judy) and Sammy Reed; sister-in-law, Carmela McLeod, and 10 grandchildren, Brandon Lewis, Courtney Smith (Chris) and Dakota Smith and their mother Jennifer, Kayla Mackinnon (Isaiah), Connor Mackinnon, Amber Mackinnon (Eric), Crystal Hindy, Alysha Hindy (Lucas),  Amanda Hindy (Matthew) and Dawson.  She also leaves behind a legacy of seven great-grandchildren.

She is pre-deceased by her father, Sam Reed; mother, Marjorie (Currie) Reed; sister, Martha, and nephew, Sammy Jesson.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Oromocto Public Hospital for their care, attention and support. They were very compassionate and took great care of our mom.

A Funeral Service will take place in the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel at McAdam’s Funeral Home in Fredericton, NB on Thursday, February 19th, 2026, beginning at 2:00 pm, with Fr.
