Some students leave a mark on your classroom.
Some leave a mark on your heart.
She did both.
She was tough. She challenged us. She pushed back. She questioned. She didn’t just accept information ,she wanted to understand it, debate it, wrestle with it. And that strength, that fire, was going to make her one incredible paramedic.
If you only saw her edge, you missed her magic.
Those of us who truly got to know her saw the beauty inside. The loyalty. The protectiveness. The way she would go to bat for the people she cared about without hesitation. She would give you the shirt off her back and probably chirp you while doing it.
She had a sense of humour that could light up a room. Crude at times. A mouth like a sailor. Completely unapologetically herself. And we loved her for it.
She had struggles. She carried weight. But she kept showing up. She kept trying. She kept pushing forward toward her dream of becoming a paramedic because she wanted to give back. She wanted to matter. And she already did.
Her life was taken far too soon.
There will be a void in our classroom. In our hallways. In our hearts.
She will never be forgotten ,not for her strength, not for her fire, not for her loyalty, and not for the fierce spirit that made her exactly who she was.
Rest easy. We’ve got it from here.
