Obituary of Susan Ross

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a beloved wife, mother, teacher, artist, and friend, whose life was a beautiful reflection of creativity, faith, and devotion. Susan Elizabeth Ross passed on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the age of 63. Born in Fredericton, NB, on February 2, 1963, she was the wife of The Reverend Paul Ross.

In addition her to her husband, Paul, Susan leaves behind her children, Benjamin Ross (Julie) and Victoria Ross (Philippe); father, Max Hawkins; grandchildren, Maxime, Alexandre, and Charlotte; sister, Deanna Hawkins-Scott (David); nieces, Alexandra Ross (Dalton), Elizabeth Price (Kyle), Rebecca Scott, Rachel MacLean (Thomas), and Christina Roberts (Timothy); nephews, Philippe Jean, Joseph Scott (Kayla), Corey Ross (Nicole) and Calvin Ross (Lacie); mother-in-law, Myrna Ross; brothers-in-law, John Ross (Lynn) and Todd Ross (Jennifer); as well as a large circle of close friends. Susan was predeceased by her mother, Florence Hawkins, and father-in-law, Sandy Ross.

She found her greatest joys in life’s simple and meaningful moments—tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, where her care and patience brought beauty and nourishment to all around her. Her love for her Labrador Retrievers was unmistakable, as they were not just pets, but cherished companions who shared in her everyday life.

A woman of many talents, she devoted countless hours to her handicrafts, mastering tatting, cross-stitch, knitting, and quilting. Each piece she created carried a part of her spirit—thoughtful, detailed, and made with love. Her artistic gifts extended far beyond thread and fabric; she could paint, draw, and sculpt with remarkable skill, always finding new ways to express the beauty she saw in the world.

Music was at the heart of who she was. As a passionate educator, she spent many years teaching music and art, inspiring generations of students. Her involvement in choirs, especially show choirs, brought her immense joy, and her dedication and talent helped lead many groups to award-winning success.

Her faith was the foundation of her life. She had a deep love for God and His Word, faithfully engaging in precept Bible studies and growing in her understanding and devotion. She stood steadfastly beside her husband in his pastoral calling, offering unwavering support, strength, and grace in their shared ministry.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her creativity, her faith, and the quiet yet profound way she touched the lives of so many. Her legacy lives on in the beauty she created, the lives she shaped, and the love she so freely gave.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
