Bill and the Chernoff family,
our deepest condolences. We are thankful to have been intersect with Helen so many times, which has continued > 20 years...ever since we moved here. Helen was always so full of stories, and a "quick stop at the house" usually turned into an at least one hour catch up with everything that was going on, and of course, how Chernoff family was doing in various parts of the country. There is no doubt Helen lived a full and satisfying life, to the very end. Nothing seemed to (easily anyway) to slow her down. Even recently, I was on my way to Crabbe, and stopped at the Chernoff house to drop off something...Helen jumped on to vehicle to come check out the camp and walked down the (family) hill, and then up again, like it was nothing albeit the day was one of those scorching hot days when the air doesn't move even a little bit (Bill was in Saskatchewan, farming, of course!). Me and my family will remember her and her voice for as long as we live; having no relatives in this country ourselves, she was always a little bit of a grandmother figure of sorts. I hope you will all find a peace even at this moment of loss and will be able to cherish all the great memories.

We were sadden to read about Helen's passing. She was so gracious to my husband and I when we passed through Frederickton on our East coast trip from Cambridge Ontario many years ago. Our visit to the Beaverbrook Art gallery was an enlightening time together which we thoroughly enjoyed.
I'm Bill's cousin Eileen Lewis, nee Demofsky. My husband Keith and I send our deepest condolences to all the family

It was always an exciting time when we were going to the Chernoff’s house for a visit, growing up that was a regular occurrence. I recall one day we went and upon arrival Helen walked out into the living room and asked, would you like to drink some witches brew (a different mixture of juice and I believe pop) I was young so what was in the drink I don’t quite remember. What I do remember was how fun she made the simple things in life. I will always hold a special place in my heart for Helen and the Chernoff family. May she rest in peace.

I will really miss Helen. I've known her for years but gotten to know her best recently with her work on the Social Responsibility Committee of the Unitarian Fellowship of Fredericton. Helen was there for every climate meeting or rally. She really cared about our climate future.
My deepest condolences to Bill and the family for their loss.

We will remember Helen as a friend of unwavering values and a heart that gave freely. Her generosity showed up in quiet acts and bold gestures alike. She was beautifully straightforward, never hiding her truth, and that authenticity was a gift; you always knew where you stood with her, which made her an unforgettable presence and a precious friend in our lives. May your soul rest in the Bliss of Eternity.

From the time I was in a crib, she was there. She introduced me to the people who became my friends, and opened my eyes to a world bigger than I knew to look for. She didn’t just care for me, she shaped me. I carry her with me every day, and I always will. Rest gently, Helen. You were so deeply loved.

Rish and I were so sorry to hear of Helen's passing and send our condolences to her whole family, especially Bill. We were very happy that Helen was able to visit us in Saint Andrews two summers ago and have a nice of memory of sitting under the apple trees reminiscing.
