Obituary of Rose Mae Richards

It is with great sadness that the family of Rose Mae (Gallant) Richards announces her passing. Rose Mae passed peacefully at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at the age of 86. Born in St. Raphael, PEI, on July 12, 1939, she was the wife of the late Daniel Richards.

 

Rose Mae leaves behind her children: Susan Richards (Mitch Estey) of Hamtown Corner, NB, Colleen Lawrence (Doug Wesner) of Michigan, Ronald Richards (Elaine Ward) of Bridgewater, NS. Her siblings, Jerry Gallant (Anne), Stella Gallant (Fred Skinner), Linda Richards (Tim), Louis Gallant (Celine), and Shelley Crosley (Robert). Her grandchildren: Matthew Richards (Allyssa Harris), Alex, Aron (Kate) and Christine (Ryan Bolson) Lawrence; step grandson, Adam Estey (Brittany); great grandchildren, Sam, Adelaide and Shea; brother-in-law, Francis Gallant and sister-in-law, Sarah Arsenault, Mildred Richards, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Danny, Rose Mae was predeceased by her parents, Glorice and Anne Marie Gallant and by her sister, Bertha Arsenault.

 

Rose Mae was kind and caring; she always had the kettle on and a plate of sweets for everyone who dropped by. Rose Mae loved to knit. When she was sitting the needles would be moving, making scarves, mittens and little blankets. Rose Mae would donate them to many different charities. Rose Mae enjoyed her garden. She loved to plant and watch it expand year after year.

 

There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service take place at a time to be announced. For those who wish, donations in Rose Mae’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
