It was so very touching and beautiful. May his dear Soul Rest in Peace. I never met Dale or his Wife and Son. But His Mom, Dad, James and the Myrick Family members are well known and loved here in Trepassey. I worked with Dale for many years at Q1 Labs. As an American working in NB and new to the province, Dale was welcoming, friendly and always had stories or a joke too share about Newfounland (newfies). He was one of the people who was easy going and made coming to work a little more interesting each day if there was time to chat. He will be missed and is thought about even from those of us who are far away and cannot attend in person.

I was part of the card group that Dale was part of and it is how I came to know him. Sketchy, as he was know at the table was always fun to interact with. We were both part of the group that went to Vegas and Foxwoods. Great trips with good memories. It was not good to watch Dale fade away from his horrible debilitating disease. Dale was an awesome young man. I met him when he was in college with my son on their way to becoming engineers before heading off to Thunder Bay university. He was a fun loving, hard working young man. I put him to work on building my house and he willingly put in long hours as a carpenter. He was like a son to me and I miss him. As I reflect on the last 30 years of friendship that started in college then university to settling down in Ottawa for a number of years before moving to different provinces I am truly grateful to have met and shared a great part of my life with such a wonderful person. Just reading about Dale’s passing on Facebook. I was saddened to hear the news. I taught Dale in Grade 3 in Wabush Primary school many moons ago and sort of kept track of him with Frank in Pasadena. He was a fine young man. My condolences to you all. May God bless him now on his final journey.

He has left this world way too soon. During our elementary school years we had spent endless hours playing street hockey both outside and in the garage of the Newfoundland Telephone building. We have known Dale for over 50 years He was always close to our family and hearts. We will miss the little boy with a diaper and rubber boots knocking on our door early mornings to join us for breakfast. His wonderful smile and devilish grin when he got one up on you.
