Uncle John was not just an uncle, he was a bestfriend.
My Uncle could make me smile and laugh. He would come over and give you the fullest, real long hug that was the most loving hug. Uncle John passed that down to his wonderful children, my cousins. We are very lucky Uncle John copied and pasted himself when Paul was born! We can still have those hugs!
(All amazing huggers!)
Another memory is when Uncle John would get you up and would start dancing and that helped me feel so much better each time.
When anyone was sad, depressed, anxious; he just knew, and fixed it!
He was the epitome of an Angel that was walking on this earth and an empath!
For anyone who had the privilege of being apart of his life, we were truly blessed.
It is a blessing to be his niece!

I was a medical school classmate of John. He was a fine person and well liked and respected by all of our class members. He was one of the New Brunswick contingent at our class who really added a tremendous unique flavour to our group I bumped in to John a few times after we graduated and enjoyed reconnecting, although it has been a few years. He will be missed by all. My condolences to the family .

My deepest condolences to the family and friends. I had a chance of meeting John in St. John’s, Nl, as I was taking care of his wife. Later on, I met him In Fredericton as a colleague. I was moved by his caring attitude, soft spoken manners and warm gaze. We worked together on few medical cases and I was always impressed with the depth of his knowledge.
With great sadness I learnt of John’s passing. He and his family will be in my prayers!

Dear Adrien, Paul , Margot and family members,
We are very saddened to hear of the passing of your wonderful dad. John was a great neighbor to us and we fondly remember the visits to your home . We recall the time we arrived home one New Year's Eve and your dad arrived home same time . John dropped over and had his usual quiet dry sense of humor. A good man to family and all who knew him. John made you feel welcome. Rest in Peace John. Sincerely, Brian and Dianne Kennedy

I will forever associate John with the type of home he created (overflowing with art and animals and love) and the type of children he raised (loving, compassionate, reliable, smart, and fun). RIP to a real decent human being.

We have known John for many decades and we shared many of life's milestones. We raised our children together: taking every opportunity to celebrate birthdays, keep track of accomplishments, attend concerts, and pick blueberries. The annual highlight was a New Year's Eve Extravaganza in which a few families snaked from house to house in the neighbourhood, enjoying a dinner course at each house, and then blasting off fireworks to welcome the new year. Also worthy of note was John's stellar performance in a major supporting role in a musical at the Arts and Culture Centre here in St. John's. Those lovely days have passed, but our families remain close.
We usually saw John when he visited St. John's.
We are deeply saddened by his passing and send our condolences to Maribeth, Paul, Margo and their families. At our age, death is no stranger; but it is always bad news when it comes. John was a dear friend; a good man who had a real impact on the world. He will be missed by those who were blessed to know him.

I worked with John for the 10 years he was in Family Practice in St. John's. I have been in practice for 50 years and I have said and will say again that he was the finest and best doctor and person with whom I have ever worked! He went on to be a psychiatrist and patients continue up to the present to speak about and remember him with such affection. Over the years I had lost contact with John and often voiced that I must get his contact information and see how things were going for him. But unfortunately that did not happen. I have received this news today with great sadness for the lost of a wonderful person who I regret that I had not continued to know over the years.

Maribeth, So sorry for your loss. John was a kind and compassionate soul, and he helped so many people. I recall when I first arrived in Fredericton fresh out of residency, he was one of the very first people that I identified as a helpful ally and knowledgeable mentor. His name lives on here, as I run across many of his patients that remember him fondly. We're all thinking of you here at EPP.

I remember John well in St. John’s in the medical class that started in 74. We both came from New Brunswick.
He lived with Dave Stephen and Pius Powers. The class when graduated went accross Canada and all corners of the world. John stayed in Atlantic Canada.Medical Svhool in those days were the best of times and the worst of times. John always was good at interpersonal communication and respect for all patients and their conditions.
My condolences to his family and patients.

To Adrien, Paul, Margot and Family Members,
We are so deeply saddened to learn of John’s passing. As next door neighbours and friends in St. John’s for many years, we have many fond memories of John and will remember him for his genuine goodness; always kind, congenial, witty, thoughtful and considerate. It was always fun to join the Doucet’s in neighbourhood celebrations, as we raised our young families. May God give you all comfort in the days ahead. He will be greatly missed.
Love, Doug, Kathy Mason & Family

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Doucet’s passing. For several years our offices were right across the hall from each other at Addiction and Mental Health Services and it was nice to see him every day. I enjoyed having him as a colleague and workplace “neighbour”. He was a truly lovely person, gentle and kind…and I am sure he will be greatly missed by all who crossed his path.
My sincere condolences to all his loved ones.

I worked as an admin for Dr. Doucet in his last years before retirement. Even after all those years of practice he held such kindness and compassion for his patients and coworkers. He enjoyed a good laugh and a yummy treat. He was an absolute pleasure to be around. He will be so missed by his family and I send my sincerest condolences to family and his love Mo.

My thoughts are with the Doucet family as you navigate this tremendous loss. John and Pauline always welcomed me into your home, not just as a friend of your children, but as an extension of your family. I will always be grateful for the impact you both had on my life and for the kindness, guidance and generosity you showed me over the years.
