Obituary of Ryanne Joseph Pineda

It is with sadness that the family of Ryanne Pineda announces his death at home on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the age of 38. Ryanne was born in Quezon City, Philippines, on November 4, 1987.

Ryanne leaves behind his parents, Roy and Diana Pineda; his wife, Rizza Pineda, and their son, Max; brother, Troy Pineda, and sister, Roanne Pineda.

Ever since Ryanne was a little boy in the Philippines, he had always been a clever and intelligent entrepreneur. He would pick fruits from their yard and sell them in secret at school for profit. He even gave discounts for fruits that were too ripe just so they would not go to waste. He came to Canada when he was 7 years old with his parents and his younger brother, Troy. Ryanne was a happy boy with a lot of energy and a big appetite. Because Ryanne was a bit chunky when he was a kid, his round belly would adorably jiggle when he laughed. He enjoyed baseball when he was in his primary years in elementary school. He loved to watch cartoons, and could be heard laughing out loud in the living room. In high school, he had a loud personality. With his small but muscular physique, he was the quarterback for the football team at St. Aloysius Gonzaga.

After graduating high school, he attended and graduated from the Culinary Program of George Brown College in Toronto. Ryanne enjoyed cooking since he was in elementary school.

After working in his trade in the kitchen, he entered the military and was trained in New Brunswick, Canada. While in New Brunswick, and after the military, his entrepreneurial skills kicked in again and started a vape shop business in his basement called East Coast Vape. His knowledge of his product and business structure introduced him to many people who trusted in him. East Coast Vape became even more successful within just a couple of years of acquiring a store to showcase his products. His goal?  To help people stop smoking. His friends, Jack Youssef and Chris Pond, ensure that East Coast Vape thrives and succeeds.

Ryanne loved adventures and to travel the world. After meeting his wife Rizza in the Philippines, they traveled together to Thailand, Zimbabwe, Vietnam, Singapore, Japan and Madagascar... along with several areas in the Philippines, even traveling with baby Max in some of them. He also got certified in scuba diving using it to explore the beautiful waters of the Philippines.

Ryanne loved nutrition and living healthy. When he bought his house with a swimming pool, he also made a huge garden growing a variety of sweet peppers, beans, peas and tomatoes. He would go to the gym to make sure his body looked good. Ryanne took care of his physique.

While Ryanne did not have a perfect life and had his own demons to fight, he was able to turn his life around starting last year. What many may not know about Ryanne is that he just genuinely wanted to help people. He was a very kind person who just wanted to give back to those in need. He wanted to reciprocate the kindness he was once shown. He was a good father to Max whom Ryanne loved with all of his being. His life revolved around his son. He had an amicable relationship with his wife, Rizza, and shared parenting duties, both making Max's happiness and welfare their #1 priority. 

His latest achievement? A highly motivated and determined student in pre-med at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) taking double the course load the program required in a semester, and at the same time making the Dean's list. He was approved as a research assistant at UNB, reviewing the schools existing data of plant and bacterial specimens, and was even given a small lab space to work in.  Instead of drones and ATVs, his exciting new toys became a microscope and petri dishes. He would go to Odell Park (in Fredericton) to collect specimens. He jokingly mentioned that if he discovered a new species, he would name it after him. Ryanne's son became his assistant in collecting water samples from various ponds, waterfalls, etc. making it an educational field trip for Max. His goal was to attend the University of Toronto and become a medical doctor so he could continue to help people.

Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Further services will take place in Oakville, Ontario. For those who wish, donations in Ryanne’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
