I loved every minute that I spent with Joan as one of her caregivers. Visiting her was always the highlight of my week. We were kindred spirits from day one since we were both "talkers"❤️. Joan, you were very special to me. I will never forget you, my friend. ❤️

What a loss! - the grand-dame of the family.
Joan was my mom Ruth’s sister, and she was there for me at challenging times in my youth. I spent many evenings in high school babysitting Greg and Steven, and always felt at home at 737.
She was like a second mom, and more so after my mom died. A beacon of sanity and compassion. I managed to keep in touch with her over the years and, like many others, I relished her witticisms and loving way. I am a musician, and we shared musical tastes and songs from our youth. We were only ten years apart.
I love you, Joan

Greg and Steve, my condolences to you and your family. Every time I drive by your home on Palmer St I think of your mother and dad. Good neighbours and good memories over many good years.

I will miss my dearest Aunt Joan very much. What an exceptional life well lived! My mother Helen was Joan’s older sister. Here’s a memory from the late 1940s which she loved to tell. Just after their marriage, Lloyd and Joan lived in an apartment in Lincoln which was part of our home which housed the studios for radio station CFNB and for which my father was chief engineer. I was a toddler at the time and as Aunt Joan tells the story, I was in the yard and apparently kicked the family dog for no apparent reason. She was aghast at this apparent indiscretion, and she ran down the stairs and spanked me at which point I began to cry; then she ran back upstairs to the apartment and then she cried! Perhaps this was the stimulant I needed to be more compassionate and kinder towards others. In the decades following, our family had many wonderful meetings with her and husband Lloyd. I was fortunate to have talked to her on the phone only days before she passed. She was always interested in the latest news from her extended family. Condolences to all that knew and loved her.
