Obituary of Edna Faye Boutilier
It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Edna Faye Boutilier on June 19, 2026, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 20, 1937, in Chatham, NB, she was a daughter of the late Mitchell and Eliza McLean.
Edna dedicated over 40 years of her life as a registered nurse. She began her career at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto before moving to the IWK in Halifax and the Oromocto Public Hospital. She concluded her career at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. While she worked in the emergency department, labor, and delivery, Edna found her true purpose on 3 North West. In the nursery and postpartum department, she welcomed new life into the world.
Outside of her career, Edna loved relaxing with a glass of wine on the beautiful waterfront patio at the Delta Hotel, playing scrabble, and watching Judge Judy. She loved spending time at her daughter, Roxane's, hanging out with her dachshunds, Holly and Blue, who loved cuddling with her.
She is survived by her daughter, Roxane Carrier (Nick Clark); her granddaughter, Brett Carrier Pond (Nicholas Pond); and her niece, Kathlene Contant, with whom she shared a special bond.
Beside her parents, Edna was predeceased by her daughter, Jill, who was her best friend and partner in crime. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Bliss McLean, Colin McLean, Lorne McLean, and George McLean; and her sisters, Agnes Contant, Ruby Morris, and Yvonne Slater.
A funeral service will take place at McAdam’s Funeral Home, J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel, 160 York Street, Fredericton, on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 4:00 pm.
