Obituary of Robert Gordon Orr
It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Gordon Orr of Fredericton, New Brunswick on June 29th, 2026. Bob passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born in River Hebert, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late James Gordon and Dorothy Elizabeth (Gray) Orr.
Bob’s career saw him as an office manager at By the Sea Tuna, located in St. Andrew’s, New Brunswick, as well as working in the banking industry, to become a well-respected branch manager with Scotiabank throughout the province for over 35 years. He took his responsibility to the communities he served to heart and was very well respected in everything he did.
Bob was a true man of faith and took great pride in belonging to the Catholic Church. He attended St Dunstan’s Catholic Church regularly, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 40 years.
Known for his sense of humour, Bob would bring a smile to anyone’s face with the happiness he found in life. A gentle tease or a “Dad Joke” were always close to the surface if he really liked you.
Above all things, though, Bob was a family man. He married the love of his life, Joan, and they raised their sons together. His pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. Spending time with them and watching grow filled him with happiness.
Bob will be missed by his wife of 62 years, Joan; sons, Michael (Cheryl) and Chris (Stephanie); grandchildren, Kaleb, Tanner, and Gracie; siblings, Billy Orr (Joan), Stuart Orr, and Agnes MacDonald, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
