Obituary of Vaughn McManus

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Vaughn McManus, 93, of Fredericton, NB on Sunday, June 28^th, 2026 at Paradise Villa.  He was the son of the late Frank and Katherine (Dionne) McManus and husband of the late Gail (Ayoob) McManus.

 Many will remember Vaughn from his antique shop that he ran for several years where he enjoyed sharing his knowledge and love for things from the past.  He also appreciated a good day in the woods fishing and/or hunting.

 Vaughn will be greatly missed by many and will be remembered by his family as a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family above everything else.  He will be sadly missed by his children, Louis McManus (Barb) of Nanaimo, BC, Ann Sewell (Doug) of Fredericton, NB and Kathy McManus (Jim Sanderson) of Riverview, NB; grandchildren, Melissa (Adam), Heather (Kevin), Lisa (Mark), Abigail (Justin) and Victoria; step grandchildren, Kara (Drew) and Jay (Anna); great grandchildren, Keegan, Alexander, Ryan, Halle and Callan; step great grandchildren, Justin, Kimberley, Michael, Danielle and Mackenzie.  Vaughn also leaves behind his brothers, Floyd and Raymond (Ettie); sister, Bernadette as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Gail; brother, Donald and sisters, Esther, Zita, Joanne and Madonna.

 It was Vaughn’s wish to be donated to Dalhousie University’s Human Body Donation Program to further help the advancement of medical science.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the love and care given to Vaughn from Paradise Villa. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and took such excellent care of our dad. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

A memorial service to honour Vaughn’s life will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Douglas Baptist Church with a reception to follow.  Rev. Peter Moore will officiate.
