Obituary of Karen Ann Ross
In Loving Memory of
Karen Ann Ross
On June 30, 2026 Karen, known by many as Kay, passed away suddenly in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She was a beloved wife of the late David Ross; sister to the late Marilyn Riddell; mother to Joelle (Mark) and John (Heidi); grandmother to Jordan (Michelle) and Ember; sister-in-law to Jim, Karen and Sylvie; aunt to Jenny (Mike) along with many wonderful nieces and nephews.
She dedicated almost 25 years to teaching in New Brunswick and on the Gaspe Coast in Quebec in the region of Hopetown, Shigawake and New Carlisle. Many will remember her fondly as Madame Ross. She taught both of her children French in Kindergarten and Grade 1 and got to participate in both her children’s first day of school.
Karen was passionate about Kidney Cancer Canada and volunteered up and until the day she passed away at the age of 80. She had been director of Kidney Cancer Canada for three provinces, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and P.E.I. On May 18, 2018 Kidney Cancer Canada honoured Karen with the Dale Miron Volunteer of the Year Award which meant the world to her.
Karen had a beautiful soul and always showed up for her family. She will be deeply missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Kidney Cancer Canada in her memory. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date; please visit www.mcadamsfh.com for further details.
