Obituary of William Charles Connors

Bill Connors was born January 27^th, 1939 the fifth of nine children of Murray and Doris Connors of Upper Blackville, New Brunswick.  He passed away peacefully early morning on Saturday, August 22^nd, 2026. 

Bill’s roots were planted deep in the woods, streams, bogans and rivers of Upper Blackville.  Like an Atlantic salmon, he was genetically encoded to return home whenever he was away for too long.  He cared deeply for family and friends and was known for being dependable and helpful to all who needed assistance, despite being challenged with limited mechanical, carpentry and plumbing skills.   He married June (Caissie) Connors on August 21^st, 1971 and together they raised three children (Rocky, Michael John and Daphne) and lent a helpful hand in raising seven grandchildren (Torrin, Cassidy, Hope, Emma, Noah, Gabe and Lucas).

A lifelong Montreal Canadiens fan, it pained him to see so many of his friends and relatives cheer for the dastardly Toronto Maple Leafs and he took pleasure in the Maple Leaf’s uncanny ability to choke whenever it mattered most. 

He will be missed deeply by his surviving siblings, Marsha Vickers, Roxena-Lee (“Roxi-Lee”) Burke, Leonard Connors, Bobby Connors, Margaret Pollock and Marion (“Chook”) Urquhart and June’s sisters, Dorothy Robinson and Madeline Peterson.   He will also deeply enjoy being reunited with his deceased siblings, Byron and Velma.

Bill’s family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Timmy Vickers, Byron John Connors, Josephine Connors and the many others who regularly offered assistance to Bill as his health declined in his later years.  Those efforts allowed Bill to remain home as long as possible and enjoy his favourite place on earth – Upper Blackville.

There will be a small family service in the coming weeks in keeping with Bill’s wishes that nobody make much of a “fuss” about him.
