Obituary of Marion Annie Vincent

It is with sadness that the family of Marion Vincent announces her passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the age of 97. Born in Keswick Ridge, NB, on April 28, 1929, she was the wife of the late Erlon Vincent.

Marion leaves behind her children, David Vincent, Cynthia Jewett (Larry), Dawn Vincent-Dixon (Stephen), and Teena Vincent-van de Riet (Jeff); son-in-law, Brian Jewett; sister, Shirley Carnahan; grandchildren, Kris (Judith), Keanen (Nicole), Jodi (Garth), Michael (Natalie), Paul (Melissa), Nick (Mel), Madison (Aaron), Rhys (Sheumais), Justus (Aly), Alyssa, and Linden; great grandchildren, Naomi, Myles, Isabelle, Addison, Tori, Brynn, Geneviève, Claire, Sophia, Wyatt, Noah, Bryce, and Bo; many nieces and nephews; her two special Nova Scotian friends. In addition to her husband, Erlon, Marion was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Jewett; daughter-in-law, Linda Vincent; siblings, Donald Griffiths, Jean Haines, Greta Cummings, and Dorothy Dobson; special aunt, Maudie Griffiths, as well as many of her close friends.

Marion lived a long and full life. She was a Registered Nurse and then she was a retired RN. She cared for many patients throughout her long career with compassion and dedication. She met the love of her life, Erlon, during her training as a nurse and they had many adventures together before his passing in 1991. Following her retirement, she turned her attention to her many volunteer activities, more travel and spending more time with her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She loved knitting and crocheting, was an excellent seamstress and quilter. She also was a top-notch cook/baker. Her family was usually the recipient of the results of all of these hobbies. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Marion’s family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Mountainside Lodge in Island View for the excellent care Marion received during her time there. Thanks also to the doctors, nurses and staff on 3SW and the Palliative Care Unit at the Chalmers Hospital.

Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Sunday, August 30, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Keswick Ridge United Church on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 3:00 pm. Interment will take place in the Pickard-Merrithew Cemetery following a reception.
