Obituary of Wayde West Clifford
It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Wayde West Clifford on September 22, 2026, at the age of 61.
Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Wayde was raised in Oromocto (St. John on weekends), and spent a large portion of his life living in Alberta with his daughter. He later returned to Fredericton where, to our despair, he left this world.
Wayde loved the ocean and stargazing. He loved watching the cardinals, bluejays, and eagles. All the birds!
He was survived by his loving mother, Cindy Flooks (Lionel); his beautiful daughter, Christa Clifford; sisters, Angela Clifford and Karen MacDonald (John); nephew, Joseph Sark; nieces, Sarah Trider (Mike), Jessica Messier (Brandon), and Madison Sark; one great-nephew; five great-nieces; aunt, Karen Pang (Uncle Patrick), and cousins Corrina Flooks, Nick Pang (Anne), Peter Flooks, Jenn Hosford (Ricky), and Lynn Flooks (Tim).
Wayde was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Archibald and Margaret Flooks; uncle, James Flooks, and brother-in-law, Doug Gordon.
Our family circle has been broken, a link gone from our chain;
But though we're parted for awhile, we know we'll meet again.
Some day we hope to meet you, some day we know not when,
We shall meet in a better land and never part again.
We shall meet with many a loved one that was torn from our embrace;
We shall listen to their voices, and behold them face to face.
Sunshine passes, shadows fall;
Love's remembrance outlasts us all.
Dearest Lord, we entrust Wayde to your undying mercy and love. While in this life, they felt much pain and found life difficult. May you enfold them now with your love where no pain can find them. Give them, Lord, kind admittance to your kingdom and bring comfort to their families. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. For those who wish, memorial donations may be left to a charity of the donor’s choice.
